Fighting game fossilisation

Petrification, common as it is in RPGs, is quite a rarity in fighting games, though there are small examples found in Marvel Super Heroes, Vampire Saviour and Power Stone 2 and some others. However, one exemplary character that uses techniques of petrification is Mukai, the boss in King of Fighters 2003.

I am unsure of the glowing green backdrop myself. It does seem to make the image busier and gawdier than it should be.
